If A/C compressor has failed internally, A/C system must be flushed with a Rotunda A/C flusher tool No. 014-00991, or equivalent. If there is evidence of system contamination, replace suction accumulator/drier and evaporator core orifice.

The fuel system remains under high pressure even when the engine is not running. This residual pressure must be relieved before servicing the fuel system. To avoid injury or fire, release pressure from the fuel system before disconnecting any fuel line.

- With vehicle in NEUTRAL, position on a hoist.
- Remove front wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove cotter key.
- Remove wheel hub nut and washer.
- Remove stabilizer link nut.
- Remove cotter pin.
- Remove nut.
- Separate suspension lower ball joint from knuckle.
- Separate halfshaft from transaxle.
- Separate halfshaft from knuckle, using wheel hub remover tool No. 205-D070 or equivalent.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- When seated properly, driveshaft bearing retainer circlip can be felt as it snaps into differential side gear groove.
- Torque lower ball joint nut to 58 ft. lbs.

- Lift the windshield wiper arms away from the windshield.
- While holding the retaining clip at the base of the wiper arm outward, lift the wiper arm from the pivot.
- Remove the six cowl cover retaining screws, Fig. .

- Disconnect engine cooling fan motor wiring harness clamp, then engine cooling fan motor electrical connectors.
- Release radiator overflow hose clamp, then disconnect radiator overflow hose.
- Remove radiator coolant recovery reservoir.
- Remove center engine compartment fuse junction panel bolt, then position panel aside.
