To measure pushrod adjustment, use a suitable gauge and position it against the master cylinder mounting surface as illustrated in Fig. . Adjust pushrod screw by turning it until the end just touches inner edge of gauge slot.

Bleed primary and secondary hydraulic brake systems separately, bleeding the longest line first on each system. Do not allow reservoir to run dry during bleeding operation. Never use fluid that has been drained from the hydraulic system. Ensure proper bleed sequence is followed.

On 1997-98 Villager models, the bleed sequence is lefthand front, righthand front, lefthand rear, righthand rear.

Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If the module is exposed to these charges, damage may result.

  • Remove storage bin, then remove right and left lower instrument panel cover panels.
  • Disconnect foot lamp electrical connectors, if equipped.
  • Disconnect ABS control module electrical harness connector. Use a screwdriver to pry back the metal retainer and remove the harness connector.
