DESCRIPTION
The coolant fan is controlled by the coolant fan relay. The coolant fan relay is electrically operated by the ECM. The ECM receives input signals from the coolant temperature sensor, vehicle speed sensor and A/C mode selector. The ECM will activate the coolant fan relay when engine temperature is above 227°F, air conditioning is turned on, or the coolant temperature sensor fails. Any of these input signals causes the ECM to ground, circuit 536 on 2.3L VIN D and VIN 3 engines and circuit 535 on 3.3L VIN N engines, when vehicle speed is less than 35 mph. When circu...
