Heater Hose, Replace -> Bypass -> Inlet -> Outlet

Inlet
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Drain cooling system into a suitable container by loosening drain plug of radiator.
- Reposition hose clamp at heater core.
- Remove hose from heater core.
- Reposition hose clamp at water outlet.
- Remove hose from water outlet.
- Remove hose from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install.

- Disconnect battery ground cable.

Vehicle: 2009 Toyota RAV4 3.5 V6 GAS
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Remove front bumper cover.
- Remove battery clamp sub-assembly.
- Remove battery insulator.
- Remove battery.
- Remove No. 1 engine under cover.
- Drain cooling system into a suitable container by loosening drain plug of radiator.
- Remove engine cover sub-assembly.
- Disconnect hood lock switch connector.
- Disconnect No. 1 water bypass hose from radiator reservoir.
- Disconnect No. 5 water bypass hose from radiator.
- Remove two bolts and water bypass pipe from No. 1 radiator hose.
- On models without Trailer Towing System, disconnect cooling fan ECU connector.

- Remove six screws and A/C air intake duct.
- Remove No.1 engine under cover.
- Drain cooling system into a suitable container by loosening drain plug of radiator.
- On models with automatic transaxle, disconnect a/t cooler hoses. Some oil will leak, catch it in a suitable container. Plug pipe to prevent oil from escaping.
