Vehicle: 2008 GMC Canyon SLT 2.9 L4 GAS
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove wheel drive shaft nut and washer. Do not reuse wheel drive shaft nut, replace with new.
- Remove steering knuckle assembly.
- Release wheel drive shaft by placing a brass drift against tripod housing. Firmly strike brass drift with a hammer to release drive shaft.
- Remove front wheel drive shaft from vehicle.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:

Each tire pressure sensor has an internal power supply which has a service life of 10 years.
Removal
- Loosen the lug nuts.
- Raise and support vehicle with jack stands, then remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Prior to dismounting the tire from the wheel, note the following precautions:
- Position the bead breaking fixture 90° from the valve stem when separating the tire bead from the wheel.
- Place the mounting and dismounting head so that the tire iron or pry bar can be inserted slightly clockwise of the sensor body when prying the tire bead up and over ...

- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Loosen clamps and remove air cleaner outlet duct.
- Disconnect atmospheric vent hose from air cleaner resonator.
- Loosen air cleaner resonator outlet duct clamp.
- Remove air cleaner resonator bolts.
- Remove air cleaner resonator and outlet duct from engine.
- Lift upward on air cleaner resonator assembly.
- Disconnect crankcase ventilation hose from camshaft cover, then outlet duct from throttle body.
- Remove air cleaner resonator assembly.
- Disconnect evaporative emission canister purge pipe from throttle control module, using a suitable quick disconnect tool.

The Low Tire Pressure warning lamp and/or the DIC (Driver Information Center) Low Tire Pressure message can be cleared by adjusting the tires to the recommended pressure and driving the vehicle at a speed above 25 mph for more that 2 minutes.
Relearn
- Apply the Parking brake, then place the ignition switch in the On position.
- Cycle the headlamp switch from Off to Parking Lamp position 4 times within 4 seconds.
- The horn should chirp twice and the low tire pressure warning indicator should begin to flash indicating the system is in the learn mode.
