INITIAL CHECK
Start engine and drive at a speed of 3-6 mph, then verify that the modulator is operating by listening for motor pump hum and solenoid clicking for 1 or 2 seconds. - Disconnect and cap brake line(s).
- Remove caliper attaching bolts and caliper assembly from steering knuckle.
Disassembly
- Remove sleeve, sleeve boot and pin boots, Fig. .
- Protect fingers with shop towel, then blow piston from caliper bore with compressed air.
- Remove piston boot, then pry piston seal from caliper bore using a suitable screwdriver.
Assembly
- Clean all components with suitable cleaner.
- Inspect caliper bore, piston and carrier for damage or excessive wear.
