Remove defective components. Add the proper amount of oil to each replacement component. Most recovery/recycling equipment will measure the amount of oil being removed. This is the amount of oil to be added back to the system, follow manufactures instructions provided with the recovery/recycling station.

- Remove rear section of exhaust system at clamp(s).
- Pry off rear attachments of drive shaft heat shield.
- Remove securing bolts for center bearing When removing securing bolts, support drive shaft by hand. Do not bend drive shaft.
- Remove heat shield. Continue supporting drive shaft.
- Screw in securing bolts for center bearing again hand-tight.
- Remove drive shaft heat shield from transmission.
