Do not smoke or allow an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel system related components. The highly flammable vapor mixtures may ignite, resulting in serious personal injury.

Obtain the vehicle owner's radio theft protection code, then disconnect the battery ground cable. Briefly open fuel filler cap to relieve system pressure, then close it again.

After the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal driveability symptoms may occur. The vehicle may need to be driven while it relearns its adaptive strategy.

  • Loosen driveshaft collar bolt only 90°, so as to not damage wheel bearing. Vehicle must be standing on its wheels when loosening and tightening collar bolt to reduce risk of accident.
  • Remove wheel and tire assembly.
  • Screw in all five wheel bolts hand-tight.
