  • Remove wheel and tire assembly corresponding to drive axle being removed.
  • Remove tie rod end torque prevailing nut, discard nut. Do not attempt to separate joint using a wedge-type tool because seal may be damaged.
  • Using a suitable puller, separate tie rod end from steering knuckle.
