  • Loosen the lug nuts.
  • Raise and support vehicle with jack stands, then remove the wheel and tire assembly.
  • Release the air pressure from the tire.
  • Using a suitable tire changer, remove the tire from the wheel.
  • Remove the screw attaching the tire pressure sensor to the valve stem, Fig. .
Installation

Use a new grommet when installing the tire pressure sensor.

  • Align the tire pressure sensor with the valve stem hole, Fig. .
  • Install and tighten the tire pressure sensor nut to 72 inch lbs.

Transmitter ID Registration

The following procedure must be performed when tire pressure sensor or TPMS control module is replaced. If tire pressure sensor transmitter ID cannot be registered after two attempts, replace the TPMS control module. If the registration procedure is not performed for 5 minutes or more or if the ignition switch is placed in the Off position, the registration mode will be cancelled.
