BRAKE SERVICE PROCEDURES FOR 2006 Pontiac Vibe AUTOMOBILES
Disc Brakes -> Toyota/GM Single Piston Caliper -> Caliper Service -> Assemble -> Disassemble -> Inspection -> Installation -> Removal

Removal
- Siphon 2/3 of brake fluid from master cylinder.
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assemblies.
- Install two wheel lug nuts to retain rotor and remove caliper mounting bolts.
- Remove union nut securing brake hose to caliper and drain fluid into suitable container. If caliper is only being removed for brake pad replacement, do not disconnect brake hose.
- Compress piston and remove caliper. If brake hose remains connected, suspend caliper aside. Do not support caliper with brake hose.
Disassemble
- Remove two caliper slide bushings, four dust boots and spacer collars...
