Front
- Remove brake pads.
- Loosen brake hose at caliper.
- Press brake pedal fully to floor and secure in that position.
- Remove upper guide pin bolt, then disconnect brake hose at caliper and plug hose and fitting.
- Remove caliper.
- Reverse procedure to install and bleed brake system.
Rear
- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel.
- Press out brake pistons with suitable pliers.
- Depress brake pedal with brake clamp.
- Disconnect brake pipe from brake caliper, then plug pipes and brake caliper.
- Remove pins and locking spring, then the brake pads.

Fuel System Pressure Relief
- On 2003-06 models, remove fuel pump fuse No. 2 from engine compartment fuse box.
- On 1999-02 models, remove fuel pump fuse No. 32 from the instrument panel fuse box.
- On all models, start the engine and run until it stalls.
- Turn the ignition Off.
- Disconnect the battery ground cable.
- Install the fuel pump fuse.
Removal & Installation
Do not smoke or allow an open flame of any type when working on or near any fuel system related components. The highly flammable vapor mixtures may ignite, resulting in serious personal injury.

- Remove hub center nut, then ball joint nut.
- Remove ball joint using a suitable ball joint tool.
- Remove anti-roll bar nut and collect washer and rubber bushing.

- Disconnect vent hose from battery.
- Disconnect positive and negative battery cables and remove battery. Note radio code where applicable.
- Unplug radiator fan electric connections.
- Remove top engine cover.
- Remove charge air pipe and bypass pipe with valve, keep O-ring from connection to turbocharger intake pipe.
- Remove heat shield over exhaust manifold.
- Remove power steering system's fluid reservoir.
- Undo oil pipe for power steering servo pump, clip for A/C expansion tank and clip for radiator vent hose from radiator crossmember and bend oil pipe to one side.
