Before performing any repairs on the ABS system, note the following precautions:
- Before using electric welding equipment, disconnect EBCM.
- Carefully note routing, position and mounting ABS and TCS wiring, connectors, clips and brackets. ABS and TCS are extremely sensitive to electromagnetic interference.
- Do not use a fast charger when battery is connected. Never disconnect battery from system with engine running.
- Ignition switch must be in Off position when disconnecting EBCM.

- Raise and suitably support vehicle.
- Remove wheel and tire.
- Remove stabilizer shaft link.
- Remove front wheel drive shaft nut. Insert a drift or a flat-bladed tool into caliper and rotor to prevent rotor from turning.
- Disconnect outer tie rod assembly from steering knuckle.
- Separate ball joint from steering knuckle. Caution: Do not attempt to move vehicle with drive axle(s) removed from wheel bearing. Wheel(s) could fall off, dropping vehicle to ground and causing personal injury or damage to vehicle.
