Component Replacement & Adjustment -> Passenger Cars -> Blower Motor, Replace -> Continental -> Cougar -> Crown Victoria & Grand Marquis -> Escort -> Focus -> LS & Thunderbird -> Mustang -> Sable & Taurus -> Town Car

- Remove push pins, pull instrument panel down, disconnect courtesy lamp and remove panel.
- Remove passenger side scuff plate.
- Remove instrument panel upper finish panel and disconnect sunload sensor connector.
- Remove righthand and center instrument panel mounting screws
- Remove righthand instrument panel to cowl mounting nut.
- Disconnect blower motor electrical connector.
- Remove mounting screws and blower motor.
- Reverse procedure to install. Torque blower motor mounting screws to 18-26 ft. lbs.

The electric drive cooling fan system consists of a fan and a two-speed electric motor. The fan motor will only run when ignition switch is in Run position.
The cooling fan is controlled during engine operation by the Integrated Relay Control Module (IRCM) and EEC module. These controls activate the fan at low speed when engine temperature reaches approximately 215°F, or when A/C is on and vehicle does not provide enough air flow. Fan will continue to run until engine temperature drops to approximately 210°F.

Before installing replacement compressor, drain oil from replacement and failed compressors (drain oil from suction port). Add same amount of oil to replacement compressor as drained from failed compressor.
Remove defective components. Add the proper amount of oil to each replacement component. Most recovery/recycling equipment will measure the amount of oil being removed. This is the amount of oil to be added back to the system, follow manufactures instructions provided with the recovery/recycling station.
