The cooling fan is controlled by the PCM, based on inputs from the coolant temperature sensor, A/C fan control switch and vehicle speed. The PCM controls the fan through a ground circuit, which energizes the fan control relay, supplying voltage to the fan motor.

The PCM grounds the circuit when coolant temperature is over 223°F or when A/C is On.
