- Remove evaporator tube to evaporator case retainer.
- Remove evaporator tube from evaporator case.
- Remove orifice tube from evaporator. If orifice tube is difficult to remove, carefully apply heat to fitting.

- Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
- Disconnect pressure cycling switch electrical connectors.
- Remove pressure cycling switch.
- Disconnect refrigerant lines from accumulator. Cap lines and fittings to prevent dirt and moisture from entering system.
- Disconnect accumulator from evaporator using dual O-ring separator tool No. J 38042, or equivalent.
- Remove O-ring seals from accumulator.
- Remove accumulator bracket retaining screw, then the accumulator.
- Reverse procedure to install.
