Audio Coded Anti-Theft System
Some models are equipped with an audio coded anti-theft system that will disable the radio when the battery cable is disconnected. The system can be identified by the "ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM" on the cassette tape lid. Obtain 3 digit customer code for input. Reset system after service as follows:
- Obtain 3 digit audio anti-theft code.

- Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheels.
- Remove brake caliper and support with wire, then the rotor, Fig. .
- Place a dial indicator near center of axle hub and check backlash in bearing shaft direction, Fig. . If backlash is greater than .002 inch, replace bearing.
- Place a dial indicator at surface of axle hub outside hub bolt and check hub runout, Fig. . If runout is greater than .002 inch, replace axle hub.
- Install rotor and brake caliper, then remove driveshaft locknut while applying brakes.
- Remove brake caliper and support with wire. Remove rotor.
