- Remove master cylinder mounting bolt located inside on luggage compartment floor plate.
- Drain brake fluid reservoir with suitable siphon.
- Disconnect stop light switches, vacuum hose clamp, and brake lines.
- Remove upper bolt from booster body and booster base retaining nuts.
- Reverse procedure to install.

The Check Engine lamp will be illuminated when the ignition switch is in the on position with engine not running. When the engine is started, the lamp should go out. If the lamp remains lit, a diagnostic trouble code has been stored by the Electronic Control Unit (ECU). After diagnosis and repair are complete, place ignition switch in on position without starting engine, then depress accelerator pedal fully for more than 11 seconds. ECU memory should be cleared and the Check Engine lamp should be reset.
