Accessing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
To enter diagnostic mode, vehicle speed must be below 10 mph. If vehicle speed is above 10 mph, a "No Response" message will be displayed on the DRB II. The following are characteristics of diagnostic mode.
- The amber anti-lock warning lamp and brake warning lamp will flash.
- If a hard fault, such as an inlet or outlet valve fault or main relay/power circuit failure fault, is present, these lamps will illuminate without blinking and no diagnostic operations will be available until the fault condition is cleared.

- Remove master cylinder attaching nuts, disconnect brake tubes between master cylinder and valve assembly, then remove master cylinder.
- Remove clutch cable mounting bracket, if equipped.
- Disconnect vacuum hose from check valve on power brake unit. Do not remove check valve from booster.
- Pull wiring harness away from and up shock tower. If more slack is required, disconnect wiring harness from bulkhead connector.

SYSTEM OPERATION
Under normal braking conditions, the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) functions as a standard brake system with a diagonally split master cylinder and conventional brake booster.
If a wheel lock is detected during braking, the system will enter ABS mode. During ABS mode, hydraulic pressure in the four wheel circuits is modulated to prevent any wheel from locking.
Each wheel circuit has a set of electrical valves to provide modulation to each wheel. Front wheels receive separate signals and rear wheels receive the same signal.
