Disc Brakes -> PBR Single Piston Rear Disc Brake -> Description
Vehicle: 1994 Chevrolet Corvette 5.7 V8 GAS
This rear caliper, Fig. , consists of a single piston and an aluminum housing which is suspended in a mounting bracket through two slide pins. Hydraulic pressure, created by applying force to the brake pedal, acts equally against the piston and the bottom of the caliper bore to move the piston outward. This action slides the caliper inward, resulting in a clamping action on the brake rotor. This clamping act...

Anti-lock Brakes -> Corvette (Bosch ABS/ASR 2U Type) -> Description -> Electronic Brake & Traction Control Module (EBTCM) -> Lateral Acceleration Switch (Accelerometer) -> Modulator Valve -> OPERATION -> SYSTEM -> SYSTEM COMPONENTS -> Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) Module -> Wheel Speed Sensors
Vehicle: 1994 Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 5.7 V8 GAS
SYSTEM
The anti-lock brake system (ABS) with an integrated acceleration slip regulation (ASR) system, Fig. , maintains vehicle maneuverability under severe braking conditions on most road surfaces. The ABS/ASR systems monitors each wheel speed during braking. The Electronic Brake & Traction Control Module (EBTCM) uses this information to produce signals to prevent the braking wheels from locking.
The modulator valve regulates brake fluid pressure based on road conditions as interpreted by the , regardless of master cylinder output pressure. The modulator valve can maintain, reduce and...

Hydraulic Brake Systems -> Brake System Bleed -> FLUSHING HYDRAULIC SYSTEM -> MANUAL BLEEDING -> PRESSURE BLEEDING -> WHEEL BLEEDING SEQUENCE
Vehicle: 1994 Chevrolet Corvette 5.7 V8 GAS
MANUAL BLEEDING
Pressure bleeding is recommended for all hydraulic systems. However, if a pressure bleeder is unavailable, use the following procedure. Brake fluid damages painted surfaces. Immediately clean any spilled fluid.
- Remove vacuum reserve by pumping brakes several times with engine off.
- Fill master cylinder reservoir with clean brake fluid. Check fluid level often during bleeding procedure; do not let reservoir fall below half full.
- If necessary, bleed master cylinder as follows:
- Disconnect master cylinder forward brake line connection until fluid flows from reservoir. R...
