- Disconnect battery ground cable from battery.
- Loosen alternator mounting bolt.
- Loosen alternator adjustment screw lack nut.
- Loosen alternator belt adjusting bolt.
- Remove alternator belt.
- Clean and inspect belt surfaces of all pulleys.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Tighten adjusting bolt to increase alternator belt tension to 160 lbs.
- Torque pivot bolt to 40 ft. lbs.
