Rear Wheel Anti-Lock (RWAL) Brake System
The rear-wheel Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS) is standard equipment on all models. This system prevents rear wheel lock-up by monitoring wheel speed and altering pressure to the rear wheels. Rear brake fluid application is controlled according to wheel speed, degree of wheel slip and rate of deceleration. The main components of the system are an electronic brake control module, a hydraulic pressure control valve, a speed sensor and a sensor exciter ring, Fig. . A standard master cylinder and power booster are used.
Four Wheel Ant...

Front & Rear Split Systems
When the brake pedal is depressed, both the primary (front brake) and the secondary (rear brake) master cylinder pistons are moved simultaneously to exert hydraulic fluid pressure on their respective independent hydraulic systems. The fluid displacement of the two master cylinders is proportioned to fulfill the requirements of each of the two independent hydraulic brake systems.
If a failure of the rear (secondary) brake system should occur, initial brake pedal movement causes the unrestricted secondary piston to bottom in the master cylinder ...
