- Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals two and three of the sensor, Fig. .
- Resistance should be between 100-130 ohms at 68°F. If not within specified value, replace sensor.

- Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminal four and the body ground, Fig. .
- If there is no continuity, replace the valve.

- On ES 250 models, remove charcoal canister.
- On LS 400 models with TRAC, remove TRAC assembly. Refer to "TRAC Actuator, Replace."
- On all models, disconnect level warning switch connector.
- Draw fluid out of reservoir with syringe.
- Remove brake lines from master cylinder.
- Remove three nuts, then the master cylinder and gasket from brake booster.

- Drain out gear oil fluid.
- Remove cotter pin and nut from tie rod end.
- Using a suitable puller or SST 09923-00020 disconnect tie rod end from steering knuckle.
- Remove nut and disconnect stabilizer bar link from lower arm.
- Remove bolt and two nuts.
- Disconnect steering knuckle from lower ball joint.
- Place match marks on drive shaft and side gear shaft or center drive shaft. Do not use a punch to mark matchmarks. Use paint, etc.
