DESCRIPTION
The electric cooling fan is controlled by a engine coolant temperature switch and a relay. When coolant temperature reaches approximately 185°F, the engine coolant temperature switch contacts close, providing a ground circuit to the fan relay, which provides voltage to the fan motor.
When coolant temperature drops to approximately 178°F, the engine coolant temperature switch contacts open, opening the fan relay and shutting off the fan.

- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove tires and wheels.
- Drain transmission oil into a suitable container.
- Disconnect lower arm ball joint from knuckle, then remove stabilizer and strut bars from lower arm.
- On lefthand driveshaft, remove bearing bracket attaching bolts.
- On righthand driveshaft, insert suitable pry bar between transmission case and driveshaft, then pry driveshaft from transmission. Do not pull on driveshaft and do not insert pry bar deep enough to damage oil seal.
