BRAKE SERVICE PROCEDURES FOR 2005 Acura MDX AUTOMOBILES

Acura -> Power Brake Units -> Adjustments -> Brake Pedal Height -> Pushrod Clearance

Brake Pedal Height
- Disconnect brake switch connector.
- Loosen brake switch locknut and back switch off until no longer touches brake pedal.
- Turn up floor mat and measure pedal height from lefthand center of pedal pad
- Loosen locknut and turn pushrod to specified height, Fig. .
- Torque locknut to 11 ft. lbs.
- On 3.2CL, 3.2TL and 3.2RL models, turn in brake light switch until plunger is fully depressed. Back switch off 1/4 turn to .01 inch clearance. Tighten locknut.
- On RL, RSX, TL, TSX and MDX models, turn in brake light switch until plunger is fully depressed. Turn switch 45º clockwise to lock...

- On MDX models, remove intake air duct and throttle cable holder.
- On RL models, proceed as follows:
- Remove engine compartment covers.
- Remove mounting bolts and position underhood fuse/relay box aside.
- Remove mounting bolts, nuts and strut brace.
- On RSX models, remove air cleaner.
- On TL models, proceed as follows:
- Remove engine compartment covers.
- Remove mounting bolts and position underhood fuse/relay box aside.

Do not disassemble brake booster. If replacement is required, replace entire booster.
- Remove master cylinder as outlined under.
- Disconnect brake booster vacuum hose.
- On RL models, remove engine wire harness from brackets and position it aside.
- On TSX models, remove cover, mounting bolt and underhood fuse/relay box.
- On TL and TSX models, remove air cleaner.
- On 3.2CL and 3.2TL models, proceed as follows:
- Remove fuel feed line bracket.
- Remove starter cable clamps.
- Remove windshield wiper intermittent relay bracket.
