Vehicle: 2004 Audi TT Quattro 3.2 V6 GAS
A twin pillar lifting platform should be used when working on the driveshaft.
Before removing, mark the positions of all parts in relation to each other. Reinstall in the same position otherwise imbalance will be excessive, the mountings could be damaged causing rumbling noises.
Keep driveshaft straight: only store and transport fully extended.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Remove center noise insulation.
- Loosen clamp on exhaust system and disconnect exhaust pipe.
- Unbolt rear right exhaust bracket.
- Detach exhaust from brackets.

Vehicle: 2004 Audi TT Quattro 3.2 V6 GAS
The wheel bearings must not be loaded when the hub nut/hex bolt is loose. If the bearings are loaded by the vehicle's own weight the bearing will be damaged. The wheel bearings will be stressed and the life expectancy reduced.
If a vehicle that has an axle shaft removed is to be moved, an outer CV joint must be installed in place of the axle shaft and be tightened to 37 ft. lbs. otherwise the wheel bearing will be damaged.
