- Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and caliper as outlined under. "Caliper Service."
- Remove retainers securing rotor to hub,. Fig. , then slide rotor off hub studs.

Brake System Bleed
ABS system bleeding requires conventional bleeding methods plus use of the scan tool. The procedure involves performing a base brake bleeding, followed by use of the scan tool to cycle and bleed the HCU pump and solenoids. A second base brake bleeding procedure is then required to remove any air remaining in the system.

- Remove reservoir filler caps and fill reservoir with proper brake fluid.
- If calipers or wheel cylinders were overhauled, open all caliper and wheel cylinder bleed screws.

Front
- Unfasten caliper as outlined under. "Caliper Service.". It is not necessary to disconnect brake hose from caliper. Support caliper at all times to prevent brake hose damage.
- Remove outboard brake pad from caliper by pressing one end inward to release pad lug.
- Rotate shoe upward until spring clears caliper.
- Press other end of pad inward to release other lug, then rotate upwards and out of caliper.
- Grasp ends of inboard pad and tilt outward to release springs from caliper piston.

- With engine stopped, pump brake pedal four or five times to deplete vacuum in power booster.
- Disconnect brake lines at master cylinder.
- Remove ground wire from combination valve bracket.
- Remove master cylinder retaining nuts,. Fig. .
- Slide combination valve bracket off cylinder mounting studs. Loosen or disconnect brake lines at rear anti-lock valve and combination valve, if required.
- Remove master cylinder.
- Reverse procedure to install. Tighten master cylinder mounting nuts and fluid line nuts as specified in. Fig. .
