The bolt retaining the condenser to the radiator end tank is a special length and should be the only bolt used upon reinstallation. The use of a longer bolt will damage the radiator end tank.

  • Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
  • Remove upper tie bar support brace bolts at upper tie bar.
  • Loosen upper tie bar support brace bolts at headlamp and bumper fascia mounting panel and position braces out of way.
  • Remove upper radiator seal and mounting brackets.
  • Disconnect compressor hose from condenser.

Before installing replacement compressor, drain oil from replacement and failed compressors (drain oil from suction port). Add same amount of oil to replacement compressor as drained from failed compressor.

Remove defective components. Add the proper amount of oil to each replacement component. Most recovery/recycling equipment will measure the amount of oil being removed. This is the amount of oil to be added back to the system, follow manufactures instructions provided with the recovery/recycling station.
