- Remove shift selector handle, cover plate, cable connector and finisher strip.
- Remove heater controls as outlined under "Control Module, Replace."
- Lever out panel, push hazard warning lamps, central locking system and automatic stability control switches down and remove. Disconnect connectors.
- Insert two .001 inch feeler gauges into sides, press clips together and remove electronic damper control, left and righthand seat heating and rear window roller blind switches. Disconnect connectors.

- Drain coolant into suitable container.
- Remove radiator upper cover.
- Remove alternator cooling hose.
- Remove fan from water pump as outlined under "Water Pump, Replace."
- Remove left and righthand expanding rivets.
- Disconnect fan cowl guide tab by pressing center down gently.
- Remove fan cowl and fan, Fig. .
- Disconnect air conditioner temperature switch.
