- Turn ignition to On position.
- Connect a suitable jumper wire between thermal switch electrical connector terminals. Do not disconnect electrical connector.

- Close off heater hoses using hose pliers, then remove righthand and lefthand sound wall.
- Remove carpet support plates, then the amplifier, if equipped, and amplifier bracket.
- Remove drain hose, then the heater exchanger screws.
- Place an appropriate amount of absorbent paper under heat exchanger pipe flange to soak up any escaping coolant, then remove heat exchanger pipe flange screws.
