These components are non-serviceable and must be replaced as a unit.

  • Mark wheel hub for reassembly and remove right front wheel assembly.
  • Remove wheel arch inner panel.
  • Disconnect all brake lines.
  • Disconnect ground wire and remove mounting bolts from hydraulic-unit holder.
  • Move hydraulic unit and holder out slightly to gain access to strain relief for 12-pole connector, and disconnect strain relief and remove connector.

  • Remove brake booster operating rod lockpin.
  • Remove master cylinder attaching bolt from luggage compartment floor plate.
  • Drain brake fluid reservoir.
  • Disconnect electrical connectors for stop light switch, then the vacuum hose at brake booster and brake lines at master cylinder.
  • Remove brake booster brace upper mounting bolt and booster base attaching nuts, then the master cylinder and booster as an assembly. Brace and operating rod do not have to be disconnected at pedal assembly to remove brake booster.
