DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 1996 Acura TL AUTOMOBILES
Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 1996 Acura TL cars and light trucks from 1990+.
CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace
Vehicle: 1996 Acura TL 2.5 L5 GAS
- Loosen wheel nuts slightly.
- Raise front of vehicle, and support it with safety stands in proper locations.
- Remove wheel nuts and front wheels.
- Drain differential oil. It is not necessary to drain differential oil when left driveshaft is removed.
- Raise locking tab on spindle nut, then remove nut.
- Remove self-locking nut and flange bolts from damper fork.
- Remove damper fork.
- Remove cotter pin from lower arm ball joint castle nut, and remove nut.
- Install a 14 mm hex nut on ball joint. Make sure hex nut is flush with ball joint pin end, or threaded section of ball joint pin might be ...
