- Remove 2/3 of brake fluid from master cylinder reservoir.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Mark relationship of wheel to axle flange, then remove wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove bolt and washer attaching cable support bracket to caliper body, Fig. .
- Remove sleeve bolt and pivot caliper assembly up, Fig. . Do not completely remove caliper assembly body.
- Remove outboard and inboard shoe and linings and two pad clips from caliper support.
- Using a suitable spanner type tool in piston slots to turn piston assembly and thread it into caliper body assembly.

Pressure bleeding is recommended for all hydraulic systems. However, if a pressure bleeder is unavailable, use the following procedure. Brake fluid damages painted surfaces. Immediately clean any spilled fluid.
- Remove vacuum reserve by pumping brakes several times with engine off.
- Fill master cylinder reservoir with clean brake fluid. Check fluid level often during bleeding procedure; do not let reservoir fall below half full.

- Raise and support vehicle, then remove tire and wheel assembly.
- Remove caliper assembly from rotor as described in "Caliper Service."

- Grease or any other foreign material must be kept off the brake linings, caliper, surfaces of the disc and external surfaces of the hub, during service procedures. Handling the brake disc and caliper should be done in a way to avoid deformation of the disc and nicking or scratching brake linings.
