Front
  • Unfasten caliper as outlined under "Caliper Service." It is not necessary to disconnect brake hose from caliper. Support caliper at all times to prevent brake hose damage.
  • Remove outboard brake pad from anchor plate while holding anti-rattle clip.
  • Remove inboard brake pad and anti-rattle clip or retaining spring.
  • Clean caliper interior using clean shop cloths. Do not use compressed air, as damage to dust boot may result.

  • Remove and discard 2/3 of brake fluid from largest master cylinder reservoir.
  • Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel.
  • Press caliper piston to bottom of bore using suitable screwdriver or C-clamp.
  • Disconnect brake hose at caliper and cap hose.
  • Remove caliper mounting pins.
  • Lift caliper up and out of anchor plate and off rotor.
Rear
  • Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel and caliper mounting bolts, Fig. .
