- Remove heater/evaporator housing as described under "Heater Core, Replace."
- Separate housing, then remove evaporator core.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Seal upper and lower halves with silicone during reassembly.

- Using tool No. J-33939 or equivalent hold clutch plate, then remove clutch assembly to shaft center bolt, Fig. .
- Using puller tool No. J-33944-A and forcing screw tool No. J-33944-4 or suitable equivalents, remove driveplate Fig. .
- Remove adjusting shims Fig. .
- Using snap ring pliers, remove snap ring.
- Remove pulley using a suitable puller, Fig. .
- Disconnect field coil lead wire, then remove field coil.
