DRIVELINE, U-JOINT & CV AXLES REPLACEMENT PROCEDURES FOR 2007 Land Rover Range Rover AUTOMOBILES
Includes CV axle, universal joint, and driveline replacement, for domestic and imported 2007 Land Rover Range Rover cars and light trucks from 1990+.

It is possible to fit the driveshaft incorrectly. Note the orientation before removal.
- Disconnect battery ground cable.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Remove exhaust system.
- Remove six Torx bolts and washers at transfer case drive flange, discard bolts. Mark position of driveshaft flange in relation to drive pinion flange.
- Release driveshaft from transfer case drive flange. To avoid damage to joint or gaiter, do not allow driveshaft to hang.

CV AXLE SHAFT, Replace -> Front -> Install -> Rear -> Remove
Vehicle: 2007 Land Rover Range Rover HSE 4.4 V8 GAS
Front
- Position vehicle on lift.
- Select NEUTRAL in the main gearbox.
- Raise vehicle on lift.
- Raise one front wheel to allow propeller shaft to rotate.
- Reference mark propeller shaft and differential to aid reassembly.
- Remove 6 nuts and bolts securing drive flange and propeller shaft to coupling. Discard locking nuts.
- Pull propeller shaft forwards and remove coupling and centering flange.
- Remove propeller shaft.
- Remove and discard O-ring from differential output drive tube.
- Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
- Lubricate and install new O-ring.
- Align reference marks.

Remove
- Raise and support front of vehicle.
- Remove wheel and tire assembly.
- If removing righthand drive shaft, remove nuts securing anti-roll bar links and remove links from anti-roll bar. Use an open-ended wrench on flats provided to prevent ball joint rotating.
- For all drive shafts, remove drive shaft hub nut stake.
- With an assistant applying brakes, remove and discard drive shaft hub nut.
- Remove brake disc.
- Release ABS sensor lead from clip.
- Release sensor lead from damper, remove Allen screw and release ABS sensor from hub.
