Do not allow fluid level in master cylinder to fall below " MIN" mark during bleeding. Do not fill reservoir above " MAX" level.
- Raise and support vehicle.
- Ensue all pipe and hose connections are secure with no signs of leakage.
- Ensure fluid level in brake reservoir is at "MAX" level.
- Attach bleed tube to front passenger side brake caliper bleed screw, then submerge tube end into suitable container containing brake fluid.
- Apply pressure to brake pedal several times, then apply steady pressure.

When the ignition is switched to on, the SLABS ECU performs an inspection of the brake related warning lamps as part of the power up procedure. The warning lamps are illuminated for approximately 3 seconds and then turn off. If a fault warning lamp remains illuminated after the lamp inspection, a fault has been detected and repair action is required. The warning lamp will turn off when vehicle speed exceeds 5 mph.

Discovery
The ABS system, Fig. , is equipped with an ABS modulator, Self-Leveling Anti-Lock Brake System(SLABS) Electronic Control Unit (ECU) and speed sensors. The ABS modulator is a 4 channel unit that controls the supply of hydraulic pressure to the brakes in response to inputs from the SLABS ECU. The modulator is attached by three mounting bushes to a bracket on the lefthand inner front wing and connected to the primary and secondary hydraulic circuits downstream of master cylinder assembly. Three electrical connectors link the ABS modulator to the vehicle wiring.
