- Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
- Remove mounting nut, then disconnect supply and return lines. Plug lines and openings.
- Remove mounting bolt and receiver.
- Reverse procedure to install. Torque receiver mounting nut to 62 inch lbs. and line mounting bolt to 71 inch lbs.
X-Type
- Recover refrigerant as outlined under .
- Remove washer fluid reservoir.
- Remove mounting nut, then disconnect suction line. Plug line and opening to prevent contamination.

- Open engine air bleed located on engine crossover pipe.
- Open heater air bleed located on expansion tank.
- Fill expansion tank until coolant flows from engine air bleed screw and tank is full.
- Close engine air bleed screw.
- Install expansion tank cap.
- Leave heater air bleed open.
- Start engine and set heater to 90°F.
- Closed heater air bleed when a steady stream of coolant flows during engine idle.
