Used Lenses (Accessories)

Foggy windows and lenses are a nuisance, and in the case of automobile windows can pose a driving hazard.

When fogging occurs, thousands of tiny water droplets condense on glass. The droplets scatter light in random patterns causing the surface to become foggy or translucent. Replicated micro-optics is playing an increasingly important role in illumination and sensing systems in automobiles. New design methods and improvements in materials and production technology have led to components which can offer superior performance.

Applications such as beam shaping can achieve optical performance which is not possible with conventional optics. Beam forming elements for use with red and white LEDs play a major role in automotive optics. UV-embossing and injection molding are used to produce components in high volumes at low production costs. Replicated mounting and alignment features reduce assembly costs. Used lenses which had been developed by UV-embossing have excellent humidity and elevated temperature stability.

Think about making the shape of the headlight and taillight lenses part of the fender. Try to make the headlight and taillight designs fit into the overall design of the fenders. Avoid jolting or disrupting designs like sticking bullet taillights everywhere.

The principle on which used lenses for securing a required distribution of light from a given source have been designed is illustrated by a two-dimensional example. The principle employed is to divide the incident and emergent energy into a number of equal parts. Then compute the lens system so that the rays which separate off these portions of incident light from one another are refracted as rays. These separate the corresponding portions of the emergent light. The surfaces obtained are in general of varying curvature, and the used lenses must, therefore, be molded.

In the domain of stereo vision, the presence of repetitive patterns results in multiple matching hypotheses. The choice of the wrong hypotheses leads to an incorrect distance measurement. In applications such as automotive vision-based navigation a high precision in matching and distance calculation is vital. A common approach is the use of multiple cameras. Unfortunately, in vehicle applications this is not feasible. However, the shiny varnished body parts of the car supply a free-from surface mirror. The most important of them are focusing lenses, position correction lenses, and adaptive lenses. The adaptive lens is used for controlling the axial focus position and the focus radius respectively.

Most of these lenses are made of polycarbonate plastics. These used lenses have similar design advantages to auto headlight lenses. And, they incorporate reflective optical surfaces too.

These can be bought either online/offline.
