Used Air Bag Lift (Air Bag)

An air bag lift allows one to adjust the pressure to compensate for load conditions. This ensures the load is balanced while at the same time better safety, comfort and control is provided.

One should always maintain the recommended air pressure in the air springs of the air bag lift. This will help to keep the spring in shape without rubbing or wearing on itself in the course of its travel.

Do not add steel helper springs or solid rubber springs to the air springs of the used air bag lift. Both steel and hard rubber ride hard with little or no load. The uneven loads can cause sway. Air springs will provide more comfort and value. Take care that you do not go in for used air bag lift with weak springs which are liable to cause sag, sway and loss of control.

Air bag lifts are of three types – high pressure, medium pressure and low pressure.

Air bag lifts of the low pressure type provide vertical lift over a large surface area and work reasonably well on thin skinned, light walled cars. These air bag lifts have to be fully inflated to achieve maximum lifting capacity. Their internal structure might be designed with nylon strapping supports. As a word of caution- these low pressure air bag lifts are more prone to physical damage in comparison to the high pressure ones.

Medium pressure air bag lifts come with thicker sidewalls than low-pressure ones and are not very common.

Without any doubt, the most common type air bag lift is of the high pressure variety. These air bag lifts generally operate with inflation pressures of between 90 psi and 145 psi.

These types of lifts have a direct relationship between lifting capacity and inflation height. But, these lifts maintain a 100-percent capacity until the center is approximately 2 inches in height. This capacity starts diminishing on continued inflation. Continuous higher inflation would, therefore, mean lower capacity.

The reason being, on continuous expansion the contact surface area diminishes. This reduces the total lifting capacity. At full inflation, the height of the bag generally has only 50 percent of its original working surface area in contact with the surface below.

A wide range of used air bag lifts are available for a variety of cars. The wide range of used air bag lifts is cost effective. The low cost and high quality are the benefits which make for a strong case.
