AKRON, Ohio, July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- A. Schulman, Inc. (Nasdaq-GS: SHLM) announced today that it has appointed Nancy Lauwers as European Human Resources Manager with responsibilities for overseeing the human resources activities of the Company's Europe organization.
Lauwers and Cathy Brown, North American Human Resources Director will report to Kim L. Whiteman, Vice President, Global Human Resources for the Company. Additionally, Lauwers will report to Bernard Rzepka, General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, Europe for business matters.

Most recently, Lauwers spent five years as Human Resources Manager with Thermo King in Belgium, with responsibility for payroll and related administration, employee communications (including safety and Lean Six Sigma strategies), management training and compliance with statutory regulations. Prior experience included various human resources positions with Cerestar/Cargill, Netbuilding and Akzo Coatings.
