Teen Driving Summer Camp to be Held in St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn., June 9 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following advisory was issued today by the Governors Highway Safety Association:

What: Registration is open for Ford Driving Skills for Life, Ford's FREE, award-winning, hands-on teen driver training program coming to St. Paul

Who: St. Paul area teens ages 15-19 who are newly licensed drivers or hold a valid learner's permit can sign up for one of six free driver-training sessions in St. Paul June 26-28, thanks to a partnership between Ford Motor Company Fund, Governors Highway Safety Association, Westfield Insurance and Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

When:

Friday, June 26 - Sunday June 28

Session 1: 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Session 2: 12:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Details: The Ford Driving Skills for Life program was created in conjunction with the Governors Highway Safety Association to provide teen drivers with the skills and experience they need to become safer drivers. Vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death among teenagers in the U.S., claiming nearly 5,000 teen lives each year.

During the program, teens will drive under the supervision or professional instructors, improving their skills in four key areas: hazard recognition, vehicle handling, space management and speed management.
