Jonathan Soucy named President and COO

PLAINFIELD, Ill., June 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Plainfield Companies, Inc. (the "Company") announced today that effective June 1, 2009 it has appointed Jonathan Soucy as its new President and Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Soucy brings many years of management experience to this role having served previously as the Company's V.P. of Operations and CEO of Pixley-Richards Inc. which was acquired by the Company in 2007. Mr. Soucy holds a B.S. in Plastic Engineering from the University of Lowell and an M.B.A. from Suffolk University.

This appointment is part of the Company's overall restructuring efforts which commenced in February with the change in ownership and the appointment of a new Board. In concert with this appointment, Mr. Greg Conrad has ceased his service with the Company as its Chief Executive Officer but will continue to provide advisory services through the end of August 2009.

The Company had previously appointed and announced Robert Aldi as its CFO and CIO. Mr. Soucy joins Mr. Aldi in the day to day operations of the Company.
