Ford's new engine technology shares space with medical pioneers, creators of Motorola RAZR

Medical breakthroughs in MRI technology and cancer detection, the fashionable Motorola RAZR Slim Phone, and a Ford-patented engine technology may seem like strange bedfellows, but all are groundbreaking inventions worthy of accolades from the Intellectual Property Owners Education Foundation's National Inventor of the Year Award program. The inventors of Ford's patented Plasma Transferred Wire Arc (PTWA) technology garnered the foundation's prestigious honor for developing a new thermal spray coating process for aluminum block engines. 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor roars to life in new documentary

Conquering the Baja 1000 last fall was no small feat for the 2010 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. The adventure was caught on film for a new feature documentary film, "Raptor - Born in Baja." The film was produced by Brentwood Communications in conjunction with Ford, and will premier Tuesday, June 23, at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. The documentary follows Ford designers, engineers and race program directors as they construct, test and unveil the new F-150 SVT Raptor by entering it in one of the toughest point-to-point races in the world, the Baja 1000. more...
