READING, Pa., June 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Penske Truck Leasing announced improvements to its facility in Carson, Calif., located at 19646 Figueroa Street.
Offering full-service truck leasing, contract maintenance and commercial and consumer rental services, Penske added nearly 6,000 square feet to the two-story building, bringing the current dimensions to over 19,000 square feet. Most of the additions, housed on five acres, were dedicated to the expansion of administrative offices, with about 1,300 square feet added to improve maintenance storage capabilities.
Improvements also resulted in the integration of Penske's current facility design elements, new driver lounge, and light bulbs outfitted with ballasts utilizing 50 percent less energy than conventional lighting. The Carson location employs 50 associates, services over 180 leasing customers and maintains a fleet of nearly 1,000 vehicles on-site. It also features eight service bays, wash bay and four-lane fuel island.
"Consolidation was the main reason for expanding the Carson, Calif. facility," said Peter Weeks, Senior Vice President - West Region, Penske Truck Leasing. "Growth over the years necessitated these improvements. Now, Penske houses all Carson area administrative efforts under one roof. Previously, those operations were in two separate locations just a few miles apart."
