California "Agents" Available for Media Interviews

LOS ANGELES, May 1 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- 28 California residents were recently awarded a once-in-a lifetime opportunity: the chance to possess a vehicle that hasn't even gone on sale in the United States yet. The 28 residents were among the 100 people selected to be "agents" of the Fiesta Movement, a six month-long social media campaign designed to generate excitement about the highly anticipated Ford Fiesta, the new fuel-efficient small car that goes on sale next year.

As part of the Fiesta Movement, those chosen will test drive and "live" with a European version of the Ford Fiesta for six months, traveling as "agents" on special "missions," who will then relate their experiences through a variety of social media platforms. To be selected, the "agents" applied online, posting short videos on YouTube explaining why they would be the best representative "agents" for the Fiesta Movement. In total, more than 4,100 applicants from all over the country applied for the chance to be part of the Movement, creating videos for YouTube that garnered an excess of 750,000 Internet views.

Among the first to receive their Fiestas were the California-based "agents" (see cities below). Genuinely representative of the diverse lifestyles and cultures found in the golden state, the California "agents" come from all walks of life. There is one who comes from a family of celebrity racers; a team of "agents" who have made a successful career out of designing and producing hip clothing and fashion shows for models and celebrities; and yet another who lives his life as an artist and break boy dancer, filming documentaries and using photography to depict the lives of break dancers.

While they come from diverse backgrounds and have various reasons for applying to take part in the Movement, they all share a common thread; they are creative, tech savvy trendsetters, who are not shy about sharing their experiences with any who will listen. Already they have a multitude of plans for their Fiestas, ranging from cross country trips to fashion shows.

Beyond their personal plans for their new cars, the "agents" will take part in upcoming missions devised by the program's "Mission Control" department; these will be based on monthly themes. With six themes in all, the first theme "agents" will create content on is travel. Each of the 100 "agents" will choose an individual mission, which will send them on an adventure to engage with people in their Ford Fiesta. Missions will be chronicled via a variety of social media, making it possible for people all over the world to bear witness to, and in some cases, participate in their adventures.
