APPOINTMENT FOLLOWS PROMOTION OF ALAN BUDDENDECK TO GLOBAL VP
FRANKLIN, Tenn., May 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Nissan North America, Inc. (Nasdaq: NSANY), today announced that Scott Stevens has been named vice president Corporate Communications, Nissan Americas. Stevens succeeds Alan Buddendeck, who in February was named corporate vice president, Global Communications, Global Brand Communications and CSR Department at Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. in Japan.

Stevens' appointment is effective Monday, May 4. He will be responsible for all product, corporate and internal communications in North, Central and South America and the Caribbean. He will report to Carlos Tavares, Chairman, Management Committee-Americas.
Most recently, Stevens was president of Cardinal Communications in Austin, Texas, where he worked with a global network of media consultants, writers and graphic artists to manage image-building for international clients. Before that, he served as global director of communications for Motorola Semiconductor Products Sector and its successor, Freescale Semiconductor, where his responsibilities included the Americas, Asia-Pacific and Europe. He was based in Hong Kong and Austin.
Earlier, Stevens held communications management positions supporting Motorola's Manufacturing and Wireless divisions. Before joining Motorola, Stevens worked in communications organizations for IBM, SEMATECH and the Texas Department of Commerce, all in Austin.
He graduated with a bachelor's of science degree in journalism and public relations from the University of Texas at Austin. He attended the United States Military Academy at West Point.
