AUBURN HILLS, Mich., April 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- BorgWarner Transmission Systems Korea received a 2008 Supplier of the Year award in the quality category from Hyundai-Kia Automotive Group for its remarkable contribution to strengthening the competitiveness of the Korean automotive industry. Only two of 350 tier-one suppliers earned the distinction. The facility has been successfully supporting Hyundai-Kia's efforts to improve quality and brand image for the past 19 years. In fact, Hyundai-Kia has arranged for most of its tier one suppliers to visit our plant and learn from us," said Hwan Hur, President, Transmission Systems Korea.

As a top supplier, Transmission Systems Korea has been awarded Hyundai-Kia's Quality Five Star Award 12 consecutive times and received the 2007 Korean Presidential Award for achieving only 0.6 defects per million parts produced.
