Ford Introduces Purchase Plan to Boost Consumer Confidence

Ford Motor Company (NYSE: F) is doing its part to rebuild faith in the marketplace by introducing the new Ford Advantage Plan, the most comprehensive program available to boost consumer buying confidence. Through the program, if customers who purchased a new Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle lose their jobs, Ford will cover payments up to $700 for up to 12 months. Zero percent financing on select vehicles also is available through Ford's financing partner, Ford Motor Credit. Ford also will assist charities impacted by the economic downturn through a partnership program with its dealers. more...

The new 2010 Shelby GT500 delivers the most power and refinement ever from a Ford SVT-tuned performance Mustang. A supercharged and intercooled 5.4-liter dual overhead cam V-8 engine produces 540 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 510 ft.-lb. of torque at 4,500 rpm. Improved acceleration and 2 mpg improvement in highway fuel economy comes complimentary from new gearbox enhancements and a standard 3.55:1 rear axle ratio. EPA Recognizes Ford's Commitment to Environment

Ford's efforts to reduce the amount of energy used to manufacture vehicles and support its U.S. operations have earned it the U.S. Environmental Agency's 2009 ENERGY STAR Award for the fourth consecutive year. Actions taken by Ford have improved energy efficiency in the country by 5 percent in 2008, resulting in a savings of $16 million. Since 2000, Ford's energy efficiency has improved by 35 percent - the equivalent of the annual energy consumed by more than 150,000 homes. more...
