DriveHealthy.com Launches New Spanish-language Web Site

Site provides in-language information and money-saving advice to Spanish-speaking California motorists

SACRAMENTO, Calif., March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) today unveiled a Spanish-language version of its DriveHealthy.com Web site in an effort to better serve California's Spanish-speaking community. The new Spanish version mirrors the campaign's English Web site and offers information regarding the Bureau's Consumer Assistance Program, as well as a number of cost saving tips and resources to help save gas, help one's vehicle pass its Smog Check test and, in turn, help keep California's air clean.

The Web site makes key information about the importance of proper vehicle maintenance and its cost saving and environmental benefits more easily accessible to Spanish speakers and people with limited English proficiency. Since the launch of BAR's DriveHealthy campaign in April of 2008, educating all California consumers on how they can do their part in helping to clean the air we breathe through proper vehicle maintenance has been the guiding principle behind the entire initiative.

"The Spanish-language site is an important addition to our current efforts to help educate all California consumers that properly maintained vehicles play an important role in improving our state's air quality," said Sherry Mehl, BAR Chief. "In addition, these tips include valuable cost saving information that is quite relevant given today's economy when many of us now keep our cars for longer than originally anticipated. Ultimately, cars must be kept properly maintained in order to run efficiently and cleanly."
