Annual savings survey expands to include all AAA discounts

ORLANDO, Fla., March 18 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- AAA discounts, including those available via the organization's Show Your Card and Save(R) program, saved AAA members more than $2.1 billion in 2008. Members that used the discounts had an average savings of $101 during the year. AAA members saved on everything from hotels and restaurants to home electronics and prescription drugs and much more. The average savings alone more than offset the cost of a typical AAA club membership.

For the first time, the annual survey was expanded to ask members about the savings they received from AAA's entire portfolio of discounts including AAA's Show Your Card & Save program, AAA Travel, AAA Financial Services and AAA Automotive Services. Utilizing the benefits of membership, AAA members can save on thousands of products and services from hotels and restaurants to auto repair and gas rebates.

"In the current economic climate, taking advantage of discounts is a necessity for many families," said Tom Wilt, managing director, AAA Partnership Programs. "We are pleased to know that our members are taking advantage of the great savings we have negotiated for them to help ease the strain in household budgets."

To find valuable discounts for AAA members, visit your local AAA club online at www.AAA.com. Club Web sites link to an easy-to-use database that allows users to search for savings by city, type of merchandise, business name or method of purchase.

AAA's vast portfolio of discounts offers AAA members opportunities to save in many areas of household budgets. For example, members may be entitled to gas rebates through AAA Financial Services products and AAA Automotive offers discounts on NAPA Auto Parts, AAA Batteries and Battery Tenders.

AAA's Show Your Card & Save program is the largest member discount program in the world offering more than 160,000 locations for savings worldwide including 110,000 retail locations in North America and popular online retailers including Target.com, FTD.com, The UPS Store, BlueNile.com, Lens Crafters and more.
